Abstract

We present sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stabilization of an equilibrium point for nonlinear discrete time systems when using optimal controls derived from an infinite horizon optimal control problem using a discounted stage cost. An illustrative example is provided to highlight possible conservativeness in these conditions.
