Abstract
This paper provides skill estimates for the players Julius Brink (GER), Jonas Reckermann (GER), Alison Cerutti (BRA) and Emanuel Rego (BRA) who participated in the final of the Olympic beach volleyball tournament 2012 in Lon- don. The skill estimates are based on all matches the teams have played during the Olympic tournament. Each ball contact has been analyzed according to a specification of hits and a division of the field. The resulting tables aggregate the skill estimates such that they can be used as input parameters of mathematical models like, for example, an appropriate Markov decision problem.
