Abstract

Abstract in weiterer Sprache

Halfsandwich complexes of the group 5 elements (M = V, Nb, Ta ) are well known. Most of the compounds, which have been described in the literature, are vanadium complexes, less are niobium and even less are tantalum complexes. The aim of the present thesis was the synthesis and the characterization of new pentamethylcyclopentadienyl halfsandwich complexes of tantalum. Halfsandwich azido complexes New tantalum halfsandwich azido complexes were prepared by the reaction of Cp*TaCl4 (1) with trimethylsilyl azide. The reaction was carried out with an increasing excess of trimethylsilyl azide to ensure a stepwise replacement of the chloro ligands of 1 by azido ligands. Under mild conditions, in the presence of a stochiometric amount of trimethylsilyl azide, the primary product is the dinuclear complex pentametylcyclopentadienyl-monoazido-trichloro-tantalum-dimer (18). Upon increasing reaction time and reaction temperature the remaining chloro ligands could be replaced stepwise by azido ligands. Thus, stirring of Cp*TaCl4 (1) with a tenfold excess of trimethylsilyl azide for two or three hours at room temperature leads to the dimeric di(azido) halfsandwich complex pentametylcyclopentadienyl-diazido-dichloro-tantalum-dimer (19). The dinuclear tri(azido) halfsandwich complex pentametylcyclopentadienyl-triazido-monochloro-tantalum-dimer (20) was obtained in good yields by stirring 1 with a tenfold excess of trimethylsilyl azide in boiling dichloro-methane overnight. The tetra(azido) halfsandwich dimer (21) could finally be synthesized by stirring the starting compound Cp*TaCl4 (1) in the presence of a twentyfold excess of trimethylsilyl azide in boiling toluene for three days. The product 21 was characterized by an X-ray structure determination. Triazolato halfsandwich complexes Triazolato halfsandwich complexes of tantalum were obtained by the reaction of Cp*TaCl4 (1) with the silylated compounds 4,5-Di(methoxycarbonyl)-1-trimethylsilyle-1,2,3-triazole (40) and 4,5-Di-(ethoxycarbonyle)-1-trimethylsilyle-1,2,3-triazole (41), as shown in the next scheme. A chloro ligand of 1 was replaced by a triazolato ligand under liberation of trimethylchlorosilane. In addition, coordination of the alkoxy oxgen atoms of the ester groups in position 5 to the metal centre took place, followed by intramolecular migration of an alkyl group to the Lewis-basic nitrogen atom in position 3. Thus, a five-membered aza-oxo-metallacycle was formed, to give the triazolato halfsandwich complexes 42 and 43. Phosphorane-iminato complexes The Staudinger-reaction with triphenylphosphane was carried out at the azido ligands of the halfsandwich complex pentametylcyclopentadienyl-triazido-monochloro-tantalum-dimer (20). A dinuclear di(azido) monophosphorane- iminato halfsandwich complex pentametylcyclopentadienyl-diazido-monochloro-triphenylphosphoraneiminato-tantalum-dimer (52) could be isolated after treating 20 for three days in boiling toluene or by irradiation for two hours in the presence of an excess of triphenylphosphane. A reaction at all azido ligands of 20 led to the mononuclear complex Cp*TaCl(N=PPh3)3 (53) which could be obtained after a reaction time of six days in boiling toluene. Finally the Staudinger-reaction was carried out with tris(1-cyclohepta-2,4,6-trienyl)phosphane. After a reaction time of five days in boiling toluene the dinuclear complex pentametylcyclopentadienyl-diazido-monochloro-tricycloheptatrienyl-phosphoraneiminator-tantalum-dimer (54) was formed. Bis(trimethylsilyl)amido trimethylsilylimido complexes The reaction of Cp*TaCl4 (1) with two equivalents of lithium-bis(trimethylsilyl)amide led, under formation of two equivalents of LiCl and one equivalent of trimethylchlorosilane, to the halfsandwich complex pentamethylcyclopentadienyl-chloro-bis(trimethylsilylamido)-trimethylsilylimido-tantal(V) (88). The corresponding mononuclear azido derivate 94 was obtained by the reaction of 88 with an excess of trimethylsilyl azide. A photo-induced Staudinger-reaction was carried out at the azido derivate of 88, the halfsandwich complex pentamethylcyclopentadienyl-bis(trimethylsilyl-amido)-azido-tri-methylsilylimido-tantalum(V) (94). For that purpose an excess of triphenylphosphane was used. The product 95 is a mononuclear complex, which contains both a nitrido bridge to the phosphorus atom and two nitrido bridges to silicium atoms. The corresponding triethyl-substituted complex pentamethylcyclopentadienyl-bis(trimethy-lsilyl-amido)-trimethylsilylimido-(triethylphosphorane-iminato)-tantal(V) (96) was obtained by the reaction of 88 with triethyl-phosphorane-imine (66) . Triethylamine was used as a proton acceptor. The monomeric complexes 94-96 are very interesting, because there are 3 different kinds of N-containing ligands in their coordination spheres.
