Abstract

Zwischen 1870 und 1930 institutionalisierte sich die Schauspielausbildung und es entstanden eigene pädagogische Ansätze. Wolf-Dieter Ernst erzählt die Geschichte der Schauspielschulen als Theater- und Bildungsreform. Mit Fallstudien zu Ernst Possart, Louise Dumont, Elsie Fogerty und Leopold Jessner verdeutlicht er erstmals die Bandbreite des Schauspieltrainings und beleuchtet das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen den zunehmend institutionell und pädagogisch vermittelten Vorschriften und deren affektiver Überschreitung – eine detaillierte Analyse, die die Institutions- und Bildungsgeschichte künstlerischer Berufe um neue Perspektiven erweitert.
